Volunteer Guatemala, My favorite memory from the trip was the class field trip to Little Caesars inauguration, for a pizza party. It was the happiest I saw the kids over my entire four weeks. Continue reading Volunteer Guatemala Quetzaltenango Review Terrence Kane Child Care Teaching Program
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with ABV. Our coordinator Maria Elena, is absolutely wonderful, our host family, Maria del Carmen, kind and so welcoming and her young lady helper, Sheyla, so sweet and ready to help. All the other volunteers were friendly and motivated. Continue reading Volunteer Peru Cusco Review Isabelle Parker Child care program
I had a great time here in Cusco, seeing the sights, learning the history, meeting people and learning of their culture, and working with the excited children at the kindergarten. I was rather unlucky however, as I got stress sick and stayed sick for most of the time in country.
I am incredibly grateful for the experience that ABV gave me. The ABV program has opened my eyes to the value of experiencing another culture and learning another language.
Bring flashlights (torches) mosquito repellant. Protein bars. The local groceries are extremely limited. Do a safari if at all possible! They are fantastic! Plan on leaving your heart here.
Have fun and make your time last
The first day in La Ceiba was both exciting and overwhelming, and I am very happy I was here with my group for a total of four weeks. Each week offered new experiences in the hospitals that I would not have had anywhere else. Continue reading Volunteer Honduras La Ceiba Shannon Roberto Advanced EMT Program
Volunteering abroad in Quito was the experience of a lifetime. I worked in the emergency room of the Hospital. I was able to learn and aid in procedures, something that I would never be able to do in America without attending or completing medical school. Volunteer Colombia: My month in Colombia was absolutely amazing. I loved everything about the program and didn’t have a single issue. The only part that I found difficult was dealing with the heat! My absolutely favorite weekend trip was to Tayrona National Park. It sounds crazy to go hiking by yourself and then sleep in a hammock surrounded by strangers but I have never seen such a beautiful environment in my life. Volunteer Nepal: Working with the kids was an unbelievable experience. They were all so heartwarming and caring. It is beautiful to see them smiling everyday despite their situation. I tried my best to give them someone to play with, to hug, to have a fun time with. Alongside that, I tried to provide more for the orphanage than just my presence. I invested money in the building of potential fences to improve their accommodation. Continue reading Volunteer Nepal Kathmandu Review Michelle Scholte Orphanage program
