Volunteer Ecuador: Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Quito is also the capital of Ecuador. The beautiful, bustling city sits high in the Andes Mountains an altitude over 9000 ft.
Quito’s Old Town is a wonder with neighborhoods lined with colonial architecture, some of it dating to the mid 1500s when the Spanish founded the city. It is a place of delicious food, friendly people, wonderful Andean music and colorful marketplaces.
Volunteer Reviews
Volunteer programs are available in Quito from Day Care Centers, Elderly Welfare, Hippo-therapy and a range of health care program, in the Amazon and Coast with Community Development (teaching and construction) also on the Galapagos Islands with Conservation, teaching and child care programs and we also offer Language immersion lessons.
Volunteer Ecuador: I would recommend volunteering with A Broader View because they offer a broad range of volunteering opportunities not just all over Ecuador but all over the world. The staff are all very knowledgeable and accommodating
1- How was the local ABV Coordinator and the support provided in-country?
The support was excellent. Picked up at airport, taken by host to her apartment and orientation and placement to project next day
2- What was the most surprising thing you experienced?
Community living situation as there were several ABV volunteers doing different projects, we had common areas and our own rooms with minimal sharing of bathrooms
3- What was most difficult to experience? There was no difficult experience
4- Any tips for future volunteers… (Clothing, travel, personal items, donations) If you are going to travel during your time in host country I recommend research where you will go ahead of time as you are busy during volunteer work. However, the host family helped us with the organization of short trips.

5.- Other things volunteers should know:
Respect your host family and local culture

6- Personal Paragraph (ABV Program Testimonial): I was pleased with ABV. We applied as a family of five and were fortunate to all be placed in a project individualized to our own interests
7- How would you describe your accommodation, meals, security (e: host family, on-site, shared)
All were met without issue. Ate meals together and we could discuss our project while practicing Spanish with the group and with the family.

Volunteer Ecuador: I stayed with a host family and the extended family visited often. I felt like I had plenty of space. The meals were very delicious. However, I eat plenty of meat and vegetables. I left my computer and phone out plenty of times so I feel safe. People are friendly when you ask them for directions.

Volunteer Ecuador: A Broader View gave me the opportunity to be able to volunteer in a daycare based in Ecuador where the climate is great and the overall area is beautiful. I was able to help out around the daycare and play with the kids.
I came to Ecuador with 3 goals: improve my Spanish, work in a hospital & get to know Quito. I was able to accomplish all 3 goals. My entire experience in Quito Ecuador has been excellent & that is thanks to the Spanish professors, the hospital staff & my host family.
I almost cried on my last day volunteering, as my teacher Carolina and all the ninos/ninas gave me a big hug. All the teachers at the day care and the director really appreciated my efforts and hard work during the month despite my poor Spanish! The kids wore me out every day but it was very rewarding and I will long remember the experience!
